How do I order a skip?

You can use the following simple methods to order a skip:

  • Telephone: 0800 328 4571 and speak to one of our friendly operators
  • Online: complete an order enquiry form and we'll send you an up to date quotation
  • Fax: simply print off an order enquiry form and fax it to 01554 835017 and we'll fax you back an up to date quotation.
  • Email: enquiries@envirowiseskips.com and we'll email you an up to date quotation

How long can I keep it for?

You can hire a skip from Envirowise Skip Hire for up to 10 days at no extra cost, simply call us on 0800 328 4571 and we'll arrange a guaranteed collection for your convenience. We can also arrange hire for longer periods; just call us to discuss your hire needs.

How quickly can you deliver?

Envirowise Skip Hire aims to deliver your skip within 24 hours of order receipt or on an alternative date that you require. Simply advise our operator of the delivery date/time you require, alternatively enter your preferred delivery date and time on our online enquiry form and we'll call you back to confirm your selection.

Please note that as we endeavour to deliver your skip at your preferred date/time, there are many factors out of our control which may affect this (for example, weather conditions, breakdowns, hold ups at customer sites etc.) If this may be the case we will aim to deliver you your skip as soon as we possibly can.

What size skip do I need?

When choosing the size of your skip, there are a number of important factors to consider:

  • How much waste do you need to dispose of?
  • How much space you can provide on your property, or on the roadside?
  • What is your budget?

Please remember that it is illegal to overload a skip, so try and be realistic about the amount of waste you need to throw away.

If you are unsure, try to choose a skip that is slightly larger than your needs. It's much more cost effective as very often two small skips will be more expensive that one bigger one!

What can't I put in the skip?

Envirowise Skip Hire provides skips for general and inert waste only. This means we are unable to accept the following:

  • Fridges/freezers
  • Tyres
  • Paint cans
  • TV/monitors
  • Asbestos
  • Clinical/medical waste
  • Fluorescent tubes
  • Solvents/liquids
  • Oil
  • Batteries
  • Plasterboard (max 10% of load)
  • Hazardous/toxic materials

If any of these items are found inside your collected skip, you will incur extra charges.

However if you do have any of the above items needing collection, please contact us on 0800 328 4571 and we'll be able to assist you in their collection and correct disposal methods.

Will your vehicle be able to fit onto my drive?

Vehicle size can vary by make/manufacturer, but as a guide 2.75m or 9' will accommodate the width of a delivering vehicle. If you think your drive may not be able to accommodate this, please contact us on 0800 328 4571 and we'll be happy to suggest an alternative arrangement for you.

Can I put a skip on the road?

This is possible, however, a licence from the local council will need to be applied for and a fee applicable. This charge varies across the UK and so does the processing time required. If you do need a skip to be placed on council property, including highways, then contact us on 0800 328 4571 and we will be able to make all the necessary arrangements on your behalf.

I have no space for a skip and I don't want to put a skip on the road, can you help?

Yes, Envirowise Skip Hire will be able to arrange a 'wait and load' service, where the driver will wait whilst the skip is loaded. A 20 minute waiting time is included in the price we quote you.

What happens to the waste after it has been taken away?

The waste will be taken to the local, fully licensed, Waste Transfer Station, where it is sorted and disposed of in the most environmentally friendly way possible.

Other websites offer set rates across the UK, do you?

Envirowise Skip Hire uses many different suppliers across the UK and we enjoy a volume discount with them. As such we believe you should only be charged the best rate in your region and should not have to subsidise consumers in other areas of the UK, where prices maybe a lot higher.
